Nai-chu Ding is one of the most prominent theatrical producers in Taiwan and the Chinese speaking world, and also a respected producer of feature films and large scale events. Ding has produced over 60 theatre plays, including most of the work of her director husband Stan Lai. Among her credits are iconic classics that have changed the contour of theatre in the Chinese speaking world, such as Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, A Dream Like A Dream, The Village, Just Play It, and Crosstalk Travelers. She performed in Stan Lai's early work Plucking Stars and acted in Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land (1986), originating the character of Yuin. Nai-chu Ding has produced 3 films, The Peach Blossom Land, The Red Lotus Society, and Finding Shangri-La, which have received numerous top awards at international festivals, including the Caligari Award at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Sakura Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival. She has produced large events including the 2009 Deaflympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo, and the 2011 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Miaoli. She is currently the Managing Director of Performance Workshop Theatre.
